Atheism is Not the Answer

To many Europeans and people of European descent, Christianity is already dead. There is, of course, a movement from the stauncher elements of Christianity (mostly in the United States and Southern Europe) that dream of a return to “Christian Europe.” The truth of the matter is that Europe was never Christian, at least not in any meaningful way.

Political Christianity

The governments of Europe, with a few minor exceptions, have been Christian for centuries and imposed some form of Christianity on the people. We see this still today in England with the Church of England and we saw this during the persecution of “witches” in Europe. This Christianity by force has infected our cultural senses to the point where we talk about Christmas rather than Midwinter (winter solstice) or Halloween rather than Samhain. Christianity has, in one way, infiltrated and taken over our entire cultural and religious identity. This take over is so complete that even self-proclaimed atheists lament the loss of “Christian” culture as our governments shift allegiance to a different Middle Eastern sect.

As governments, and even many Christian churches, embrace Islam many ordinary Europeans find themselves at a loss. They see their culture being ripped out from under them and they don’t know what to do. The result of this is a division among Europeans. Some attempt to recreate the Christian culture they knew from their youth. Others look to a future where all semblance of religion is thrown, once and for all, into the rubbish bin of history. Then you have those longing for a return to pagan Europe, however there is disagreement about what European Paganism even is, let alone how to get back to a pagan Europe.

Like I have already mentioned, “Christian Europe” never really existed, and I can prove this assertion. Growing up my family were nominal Christians, as were nearly all of the families of those I grew up with. By this, I mean we went to Church at Christmas and Easter, and there was lip service given to Jesus in the home from time to time. However, there was nothing particularly Christian about anything we did. My grandmother would tell stories about the Morrigan, the Dagda, and other deities in the Celtic pantheon. She even tried teaching me astral projection on one occasion. We knew that “Christmas” was Midwinter (sometimes called Yule or the Winter Solstice). We knew that “Halloween” was a Christianized version of Samhain and we knew the reason the rabbit and egg are associated with Easter. We never talked about Jesus or Yahweh or any of the Christian mythology, and we didn’t really know much about it either. I would venture to guess that many people have similar experiences.

The reality is that, for most ordinary people, Christianity was their official religion but had little or nothing to do with their actual lives or beliefs. Look no further than “folk Catholicism” for proof.

Christian priests have convinced Europeans to reject their Gods and Goddesses and bow down to a Middle Eastern “god” that possesses none of the attributes of true divinity.

Monotheism Leads to Atheism

Christian leaders force a form of atheism light on those they rule over. Monotheism is atheism for all but one “god,” the “god” of the Bible. The monotheist actively rejects belief in any form of divinity other than the specific “god” mentioned in the Bible. If one takes a moment to think about the implications of this idea, it should cause one great concern. Christian priests have convinced Europeans to reject their Gods and Goddesses and bow down to a Middle Eastern “god” that possesses none of the attributes of true divinity.

The “god” of the Bible is a vengeful, hateful, and genocidal maniac who even seems to hate the people it claims to be the god of. This supposed god demands the genocide of anyone who does not bow down before it. It self-identifies as jealous and spiteful. It throws temper tantrums and kills indiscriminately. Is it any wonder then that by gaslighting people into thinking the only God that could exist is the evil cartoon villain portrayed in the Bible, Christianity creates Atheism.

Atheism is a byproduct of monotheism. While not all monotheists will become atheists, it’s nearly impossible to have atheism without the catalyst of monotheism.

Atheism is a nihilistic philosophy that is just as alien to the European mind as any form of monotheism. Atheism is a void, and voids will always be filled. In the current situation, the void of atheism will be filled either by a return to polytheistic/animistic paganism or it will be filled by Islam. Atheism on its own is unstable and impossible to maintain for the duration.

Paganism and Animism are the Solution

Paganism (polytheism) and Animism (pantheism) are the solution for Europe. All our pre-Christian ancestors held one of these belief systems. It is my firm belief that most of our ancestors held a combined view. The Druids, for example, most certainly held pantheistic beliefs, however, they also understood deities such as the Morrigan and the Dagda.

This dual nature of Northern European beliefs means that we should avoid looking to India and Hinduism for guidance when trying to fill in gaps or understand deeper what our ancestors believed and practiced. This does not mean we are left out in the cold without guidance. Similar beliefs to the Druids can be found in both Taoist and Yin Yang philosophy.
